Divine Inspiration:
Over the past two years, Lulu the dog has struck a cord with thousands of cancer survivors and their families, resulting in an overwhelming number of letters from all over the country, including Ireland and Australia. Leaver’s story and collective works have been featured in The Boston Globe as well as local newspapers, TV shows, news broadcasts, art galleries and retail shops from New York to San Francisco.

For this reason, Lulu has become known far and wide as the "Cancer-Fighting Dog." Her soulful face is not only the focus of Leaver's paintings, but has become the subject of newspaper cartoons, t-shirts, prints, children's books, dog collars--even coffee mugs, all designed by Leaver.

Leaver does not advertise for his artwork, t-shirts or this website, which was officially launched in August 2005; money raised to date has been achieved soley by the gracious press articles and by "word-of-mouth" alone. To date, Leaver has raised nearly $50,000 for cancer research and has been partnering with organizations like the Brain Tumor Society (TBTS.org), Voices Against Brain Cancer (VABC.org), The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC.org) and many more to help generate awareness for cancer research. (see "Events" tab for updates).
